SUSTAINED HIGH PERFORMANCE
Shaped by experience. Proven by science.
Gareth Timmins is a former Royal Marines Commando, TEDx Speaker, bestselling author, and Founder & Managing Director of NOUGHT POINT ONE™ (NPO), a human performance consultancy specialising in leadership, decision-making, cognitive endurance, and performance under pressure. He is also a PhD researcher at the University of Huddersfield, where his research explores decision-making in high-stakes environments and the psychological factors that influence performance under pressure.
Drawing upon experience from military operations, behavioural science, and organisational leadership, Gareth works with organisations across defence, policing, professional sport, education, and industry to help leaders, teams, and organisations make better decisions, develop greater risk literacy, and build elite cultures that sustain high performance. His clients have included Counter Terrorism Policing (UK), KIA Motors, QBE, Leeds Rhinos, Quantum Delta NL, National Highways, and a range of defence and security partners.
Gareth has also contributed to the Entrepreneurial Thinking MSc programme at the University of Surrey Business School, delivering content focused on the perception of fear, uncertainty, and performance in complex environments. Alongside his consultancy work, he leads the Defence and Applied Sciences Institute at the University of Huddersfield and continues to test and refine his performance frameworks in demanding real-world environments, including as a crew member of ROW4MND, a four-year global rowing endurance challenge.
Through NOUGHT POINT ONE™, Gareth has assembled an interdisciplinary network of specialists from elite sport, the military, academia, policing, and business, enabling the design and delivery of evidence-informed performance programmes that help individuals, teams, and organisations perform at their best when it matters most.
We exist to improve how people think, decide, and perform in high-pressure environments, building cultures that deliver consistent results.
